October 15, 2007 Pumpkin Carving in Michigan. It was Trick or Treat in Rochester Hills and Warren Michigan, and we were ready to make a scare, a scary pumpkin that is. At the Village of Rochester Hills (outdoor mall) we carved thirty pumpkins for kids and families to enjoy. The families picked their pumpkins from the patch and chose a design for us to carve. So we gutted and knifed all the orange goop away. All proceeds went to the local YMCA in Rochester Hills. In Warren we were given three pumpkins that weighed 250 lbs. each. That was the treat, now for the trick. We spent all day carving those pumpkins plus a dozen more for our ghoulish display. In the morning the city gave away one hundred pumpkins to the first families that showed up, it was a great day. A special thank you to my apprentice Titus Arensberg. You can see him pictured to the left. As you can tell he really has an eye for this and he really did a bang up job! We would also like to thank The Village at Rochester Hills and the City of Warren for having us come out and do what we love to do, create art. We hope to see you next year!
